1. Xiaomi launches its PUBG-style ‘Survival Game’ on its Mi app store - Xiaomi has just officially launched a new Survival Game for its users. The PUBG-like game is now available for download on its Mi App Store for select Xiaomi and Redmi devices. It is worth noting that the total size of the game is just 185MB so users should not expect high-end graphics that they have come to expect from the likes of PUBG or from Fortnite. Another thing to notice here is that interested gamers can also download the APK installation file for the game from the internet and manually install the game on their devices.
The company initially started developing the game in the second half of last year, and started inviting players for a closed beta test of the game back in October 2018. After almost three months of testing, it appears as if the game is ready for the prime time. According to the description, Survival Game “is a large-scale, sci-fi 3D shooting mobile game”. The company confirmed that the game was based on the popular battle royale game format. It is possible that the company is hoping to replicate the success and associated revenue that battle royale games such as PUBG and Fortnite.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 with Android 9 Pie spotted on Geekbench - Samsung’s ‘Galaxy’ series may be primarily associated with smartphones, but the line-up also includes other products such as tablets and smartwatches. Back in August last year, the South Korean technology major globally unveiled the Galaxy Tab S4, launching it in India just two months later. As the hefty price tag of Rs 57,900 would have you believe, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is a flagship Android tablet. But even then, it was launched with the dated Android Oreo. According to a report by Droid Shout, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 recently made an appearance on popular benchmarking platform Geekbench. Interestingly, the listing mentions the tablet running Android 9 Pie, the latest and greatest version of Google’s popular mobile OS. This clearly means that Samsung is getting Android Pie ready for the tablet, and could roll it out very soon. The Geekbench listing also highlights the tablet’s benchmark scores of 1922 and 6234, for single-core and multi-core performance, respectively.


4. Xiaomi Poco F1 MIUI 10 update brings 960fps super slow-motion and night mode - Xiaomi confirmed that Poco F1, its mid-range smartphone offering flagship experience, will get support 960fps super slow-motion video recording soon. Now, the company has begun rolling out the update in the form of MIUI 10 v10.2.2.0 stable update for all users. The update brings new camera features and one of the big new addition is the support for recording super slow-motion videos at 960 frames per second. The feature is in addition to the already supported 120fps and 240fps slow motion video recording supported by the smartphone.
Other camera features being added to the Poco F1 with MIUI v10.2.2.0 includes enhanced low-light mode in the camera settings that improves the performance in low-light. This new low-light mode works by taking 8 photos at different exposures and merges them into one high quality image. This feature was made available for testing last month in the form of a closed beta and has now been rolled out to all users as part of a stable release. While the update brings one of the promised feature, it misses out on another promised feature.


5. Xiaomi Mi 9 first renders leaked hinting at waterdrop-notch, triple cameras - After the concept Xiaomi Mi 9 images, now an unofficial image render of the upcoming smartphone has surfaced online. The images appear to based on rumors we have heard so far about Xiaomi Mi 9. These look slightly different from previously shared concept image by tipster Benjamin Geskin.
As per new images via a Russian website Hi-tech, Xiaomi is likely to use waterdrop-notch display in the yet-to-launch Xiaomi Mi 9. The back can be seen sporting a triple-camera setup in images, which is rumored to feature a 48-megapixel main module and other two will reportedly have 18-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors.

The company’s CEO made the announcement during Facebook’s Q4 2018 earnings call.

Additionally, the merger of the three platforms would broaden the availability of end-to-end encryption. Those who are unaware, currently, only WhatsApp has end-to-end encryption and it is not available on Facebook’s Messenger and Instagram. Therefore, the CEO explained that merging these platforms would offer more secure end-to-end encryption.

HMD Global launches Nokia 8.1 with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage in India - HMD Global, the company that is responsible for bringing back Nokia-branded smartphones from the brink of death has just announced a new variant of its Nokia 8.1 smartphone in India. As part of the announcement, the company revealed that the new variant will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. This new variant has been priced at Rs 29,999 and will go on sale on Nokia online store, Amazon India, and other retailers across the country from February 6, 2019. The company also revealed that this new variant will be available for pre-order starting February 1, 2019.

1. Soon, you might be able to use Google Duo on the web - So far, using Google Duo has been limited to smartphones, tablets, and the majority of Chromebooks. In the near future though, the Google Duo video chat service could work on your laptop or desktop computer through your internet browser.
This new rumor comes from an anonymous source speaking with 9to5Google. According to the source, the web version of Duo will work in the Google Chrome browser (naturally) as well as other competing browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari.
Since the service will be browser-based, we can assume there will be browser notifications for incoming calls and other alerts.


2. VoIP is rolling out now to the Google Voice app - After beta testing it for over a year, it appears that Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is rolling out now for the Google Voice app. This news come via a tweet sent yesterday by Scott Johnston (via SlashGear), a Realtime Communications product lead at Google. The tweet says that VoIP is being disseminated now to Google Voice, and the rollout is expected to be finished next week.


3. A brand new leak says Apple is about to launch new iPad models - On the heels of a report last week that said that Apple would launch a seventh-generation iPad and an iPad mini 5 in the first half of the year, we now have a leak that seems to back those claims up. It’s still unclear what iPad hardware Apple might be working on right now, but documentation the company filed with a regulatory body for Eurasian countries reveals the model numbers for six new iPad versions.
Apple unveiled its redesigned iPad Pro models back in October, so the upcoming models must be cheaper iOS tablets -- the likely successors of last year’s $329 sixth-generation iPad and the iPad mini 4. The iPad mini 5 rumor is of particular interest, given that Apple hasn’t released a new iPad mini in years.


4. Teaser confirms Nokia 9 and its penta camera setup will be revealed on February 24 - Just about every major smartphone maker have scheduled important announcements for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 next month in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung, LG, Sony, and Nokia confirmed launch events where we expect new devices like Galaxy S10, LG G8, and Sony Xperia XZ4 to be revealed.
We reported a few days ago that Nokia confirmed its MWC 2019 event will take place on February 24. However, aside from that, we knew nothing about the company's plans for the event and whether or not the Nokia 9 will be revealed during the event.


5. Android Q may ship with new Font, Icon Shape, and Accent Color Overlays - One of the many reasons I prefer the Android OS over iOS is customization. I can pretty heavily customize the EMUI 9 software running on my Huawei Mate 20 X. EMUI’s built-in theme engine makes it possible to customize the background color and accent colors of the SystemUI components, framework, and other system apps as well as the system font. Samsung also offers a comprehensive theming engine in Samsung Experience and One UI. Google doesn’t expose a theme engine to users in their Pixel software, even though the Pixels’ stock Android base does support theming. Stock Android first gained support for theming with Android 8.0 Oreo, and now it looks like Android Q is further expanding on that with support for additional themeable elements and possibly more built-in customization options for all users.

1. Photo leaked by Xiaomi executive shows triple camera setup for Mi 9 - Xiaomi's next flagship phone, the Mi 9, is expected to be unveiled later this month. Today, photos of a phone that allegedly is the Mi 9, appeared on a Weibo site belonging to Xiaomi product manager Wang Teng Thomas (via SlashLeaks). The images were later removed, although others captured the photos. Both pictures only reveal the back of the handset, but it still provided us with some important information.
The photograph does make it appear that the rumors about a triple camera setup on the Mi 9 are accurate. Based on the images, the cameras are vertically mounted


2. Malware filled camera beauty and filter apps removed from Google Play Store - Security firm Trend Micro (via SlashGear) has found 29 "beauty camera" and camera filter apps in the Google Play Store loaded with malware inside. These apps, popular in Asia, are supposed to enhance selfies and customize photos. Instead, apps with the names of Beauty Camera, Pro Beauty Camera and Horizontal Beauty camera served full screen ads when users unlocked their phones. One of the ads, when tapped, downloaded an online porn player that didn't work even after payment from the user was accepted.


3. Samsung Galaxy A90 rumored to feature pop-up selfie camera like Vivo NEX - Samsung is set to copy Vivo and launch a smartphone with pop-up selfie camera. Smartphone makers are trying hard to offer phones with full-screen display and no notch and in that quest, the two solutions that have come on top is that of hole punch display and elevating selfie camera. While Samsung has already launched a hole punch display smartphone in China called the Galaxy A8s, it is set to launch a smartphone with pop-up selfie camera next.
According to popular leakster Ice Universe, the upcoming smartphone in the Galaxy A-series will be the first Samsung phone to have such a design. The tipster says that the device will be called Galaxy A90 and will be Samsung’s first in the market with a pop-up selfie camera. He also adds that the phone will have no notch or hole and offer a perfect viewing experience. Samsung has been trying to make its Galaxy A-series stand out for bringing innovative design and new industry features. The Galaxy A7, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A8s all brought new features and it is no surprise that the first pop-up camera phone belongs to Galaxy A-series as well.


4. Samsung Galaxy S9+ gets price cut in India ahead of Galaxy S10 launch - Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S10 series at an event in San Francisco on February 20. The Korean electronics giant is expected to introduce three devices – the Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, at the event this month. The devices could be joined by a foldable smartphone and a 5G version of the Galaxy S10+ for select markets such as the United States, Korea and China. With the Galaxy S10 launch getting closer, it only makes sense for the company to announce discount on older models. In India, the company has silently reduced the price of Galaxy S9+, the larger variant of its 2018 flagship.



5. Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi working on a Snapdragon 855 powered flagship smartphone - Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has always focused on entry-level and mid-range smartphone segments. But, now that Redmi has been turned into an independent sub-brand, it has set its sights on flagship smartphone segment as well. After seeing success with the launch of Redmi Note 7, the first smartphone without Xiaomi branding, the sub-brand of Chinese smartphone maker is looking at the launch of Redmi Note 7 Pro and another flagship smartphone.
The company is working on a flagship device powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 this year. The information comes courtesy of Lu Weibing, who posted a photo of him with rest of the Redmi crew at Xiaomi’s Shenzhen R&D Institute, discussing the future of Redmi as a brand and its upcoming device. Weibing, in the photo shot with a Redmi Note 7, says that the team spoke about two phones in details and indicated that it is ready to ship a premium smartphone under the Redmi brand. For now, neither Xiaomi nor Weibing have shared any details about this flagship smartphone but it has confirmed the use of Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 855 mobile platform.

1. Nokia 6.2 leak suggests punch hole camera design, Snapdragon 632 chipset - Honor, Huawei and Samsung all have smartphones with in-screen camera design. Lenovo-owned Motorola is set to join these three smartphone makers next and Nokia could well be the fifth major smartphone maker with the launch of Nokia 8.1 Plus, which could be the first device with a punch hole or in-screen camera. A new leak now suggests that would not be the only device with such a design from the Finnish smartphone maker. The company could be working on another device, called the Nokia 6.2 with a hole punch camera. The smartphone is said to be the successor to Nokia 6.1, which was released in April of last year.


2. Xiaomi Redmi 6A to go on open sale starting today midnight - Xiaomi has just announced that its entry-level smartphone, the Redmi 6A will be available on open sale. Global Vice President for Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain made the announcement on his official Twitter handle adding that the device will be available for open sale starting midnight. As part of the tweet, Jain also added that Redmi 6A has been best selling smartphone since its launch in September last year. Till now, the device was available through flash sales on Amazon India, Mi.com along with limited availability on Mi Home stores across the country.

Honor 10, Honor View 10, Honor Play receiving Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 update in India - Huawei sub-brand Honor has also started shipping EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie for the some of its latest devices including Honor 10, Honor View 10 and Honor Play smartphones. Users in India will gradually receive the OTA updates on their respective devices in coming days, starting Friday.
The latest Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 brings full-screen gestures and overhauled system UI for Honor 10, Honor Play and Honor View 10. It will also introduce features like GPU Turbo 2.0, Translation and more to Honor smartphones.


4. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro with 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor coming soon - Just hours ago, Xiaomi unveiled its much-anticipated Redmi Note 7 smartphone at an event in China. The first smartphone to launch under the now-independent Redmi brand, Redmi Note 7 offers a whole bunch of goodies. However, the headlining feature of the mid-range smartphone is its rear camera system, which includes an insane 48-megapixel sensor. And considering the smartphone’s starting price of $150 (approximately Rs 10,500), that’s, well, incredible.


5. Honor View20 prebooking starts in India on January 15, launch offers detailed - Honor View20 will launch as the first smartphone in India with a hole punch camera at the front and 48-megapixel camera at the back on January 29. The smartphone was launched as Honor V20 in China last month and is set for a global launch in Paris on January 22. Ahead of its launch in India later this month, Honor has already announced that the smartphone will be available exclusively via Amazon India. The Chinese smartphone maker has also revealed the prebooking date and offers that will be available on the Honor View20.

1. Valentine’s Day 2019: Apple iPhone XR gets an unofficial price cut, now starts at Rs 70,500 - It’s February and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and with that comes the flowers, chocolates and gifts. And it does not need a geek to know that Apple iPhones are rather stable and the iPhone XR which comes in some fancy colors is a prime gifting option on this Valentine’s Day. Even though Apple has not reduced the price of its most recent launch, the iPhone XR, a Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom has tweeted that it is going to sell the 64GB variant of the smartphone at a discounted price of Rs 70,500, while the 128GB and 256GB models are priced at Rs 75,500 and Rs 85,900, respectively.


2. Google Fi confirms it will sell the Moto G7 - Google's MVNO mobile network, the aptly-named Google Fi, has been selling Motorola phones ever since the Moto X4 launched in 2017. The Moto G6 was added to Fi's lineup last year, and as expected, the latest entry in the G series is also coming to Google Fi.

4. Google might be building a smartwatch, according to new job listing - Ever since Android Wear was first announced, rumors have circulated about Google building its own smartwatch for the platform. Speculation about a possible 'Pixel Watch' started in mid-2018, but Google explicitly said the watch wasn't coming anytime soon. According to new job listings, it looks like the company may actually build its own wearable devices.
A job listing posted two days ago on the Google Careers site calls for a Vice President of Hardware Engineering for Wearables.

1. Huawei Mate 20 Pro Red color variant officially launching on January 10 - Huawei will be launching a Red color variant of the Mate 20 Pro on January 10 in China. The Chinese manufacturer launched its flagship Mate 20 Pro in October 2018 and recently announced that it sold 5 million units of the Mate 20 series. Huawei also revealed that it has topped its target and shipped 200 million units in 2018. As of now, the Mate 20 Pro is available in five color variants, including Bright Black, Sapphire Blue, Cherry Pink, Emerald Green, and Auror in China.
Huawei China on its official Weibo account revealed the launch information of new Red color Mate 20 Pro. The previous variants of Huawei Mate 20 Pro is exclusive to Amazon in India for online retail. Priced at Rs 69,990, Huawei is also selling the smartphone with Croma in key metro cities from December 22.


2. Vivo Y93 3GB RAM variant launched in India: Price, specifications and features - Vivo recently launched a new Y-series smartphone, the Vivo Y93, in India with 4GB RAM at a price of Rs 13,990. The company has now launched another variant of the same with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage at Rs 12,990. The smartphone was first launched in China featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, however, in India, Vivo released the handset with a MediaTek Helio P22 processor.
The Vivo Y93 will be available on official Vivo India website and offline retail channel in two color options of Starry Night and Nebula Purple.

MIUI camera app may soon include features like custom watermarks, ultra-wide angle mode - One of the better custom UI overlays for Android, Xiaomi’s MIUI comes with a lot of thoughtful features and enhancements. One of them is the camera app, which includes everything from portrait mode to filters. However, if a new report is to be believed, Xiaomi may have a lot more in store for the app.
Breaking down the APK of the camera app included in the latest China developer build of MIUI 10 and comparing it with the stable build, the folks at XDA Developers have some found numerous references that hint at new features Xiaomi may be working on for its camera app. The first of these features is ‘custom watermarks’, which will allow users to add a customized line of text (up to 15 letters) as a watermark on their photos. This line will sit below the primary ‘Shot on X’ (X being the smartphone’s name) watermark feature that many Xiaomi smartphones already have.

Android Q may finally bring a System-wide Dark Mode - Android Before the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop with its Material Design UI, the Android SystemUI, Framework, and most apps, both first-party and third-party, used darker colors in accordance with Holo. Since Material Design became the guiding design principle for Android, most apps have changed their UI colors to use copious amounts of white. Recently, we’ve seen Google start to offer dark themes in some of their apps after realizing that darker colors can improve battery life on devices with OLED panels. Now, it seems that Google is finally embracing dark themes once again, as a Googler states that dark mode is an approved Android Q feature.

1. Samsung practically confirmed the 1TB Galaxy S10 phone is real - Samsung on Wednesday announced that it’ ready to mass-produce 1TB UFS 2.1 storage for mobile phone, which is a huge deal. As always with these announcements, they come just before the launch of a brand new flagship from the company. In other words, Samsung is seemingly suggesting that the 1TB Galaxy S10+ model you’ve seen featured in various rumors will happen.


2. OnePlus again becomes top selling premium smartphone brand in India during Q4, 2018 - OnePlus has emerged the best selling premium smartphone brand in last quarter of 2018. According to Counterpoint’s market survey, OnePlus captured 36 percent of the premium smartphone market in Q4, 2018, while Apple and Samsung’s market share in the same range stood at 30 percent and 26 percent respectively. All three brands collectively contributed to 92 percent of the overall premium market in Q4 2018.

Intel working on a 3-display foldable smartphone design, reveals patent filing - Intel might be preparing to throw its hat into the foldable smartphone race with a three display foldable design soon. This year is expected to be the first step in the introduction of foldable smartphones with Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, LG and other tipped to introduce foldable smartphones. A new patent suggests that Intel will join them soon and offer a device with foldable display panels. The first such patent was spotted on World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published in 2017 shows an Intel device that seamlessly switches from a smartphone to tablet design.

1. Xiaomi will soon add 4K at 60fps to Mi 8 with a new software update - Chinese smartphone maker and electronics giant Xiaomi is planning to release a new update for its Mi 8. According to new information, the company is working on adding 4K video recording at 60fps as part of the update. The device was shipped with support for recording 4K video at 30fps out of the box. President and co-founder of the company, Lin Bin was the first to spill the beans about this upcoming feature. He also revealed more details about the feature adding that the company was planning to roll out the feature in coming two months while responding to a question by a Weibo user on his post.



2. HMD Global confirms MWC 2019 event on February 24; Nokia 9 Pureview expected - HMD Global has finally confirmed that it will announce its next smartphones at MWC 2019 on February 24. The announcement came after Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, teased upcoming announcement the other day on Twitter. The teaser shared by HMD Global shows that the company will introduce the new set of Android smartphones in Barcelona on February 24 at 4:00PM local time. For Indian consumers, the event is scheduled to start at 8.30PM IST and the keynote should be at least an hour long.
The leaks so far suggest that HMD Global has planned quite a product lineup for Mobile World Congress 2019. It is highly expected to launch the flagship Nokia 9, the first smartphone with penta-camera setup. The other rumored devices include the Nokia 8.1 Plus with a hole punch display at the front, the successor to Nokia 6.1 and a nostalgic device, which could be the Nokia N9 running KaiOS this time around. HMD Global has used MWC as the platform to introduce its product lineup for the first half of the year and this year is expected to be no different.



3. Oppo K1 India launch set for February 6; to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor - Oppo K1 is all set to make its debut in India on February 6. The smartphone will be exclusively available via Flipkart. The e-commerce giant has dedicated a page for Oppo‘s upcoming mid-range smartphone. The page suggests that the device’s biggest USP will be its in-display fingerprint reader and the latest technology will be available at an “Unbelievable price.”
The page mostly focuses on the latest tech, and there is also an “Unlock with Style” hashtag. The handset will be unveiled at 12:00PM on the mentioned date. While Oppo has already launched the Oppo K1 in China, we already know specifications of the handset. The smartphone packs a 6.4-inch display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. The panel operates at full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution. There is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset under the hood.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 India launch set for February 12 - Xiaomi has already hinted that it is planning to launch its latest Redmi-branded smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 in India in the coming weeks. Now new information has revealed that the event is set for February 12. It is likely that the device will not go on sale on the same date and may be available some days after the launch announcement. There is no indication on what the company is planning to set the price of the device. But considering that the company did not launch the Redmi Note 6 in India, it is likely that it may start from anywhere between Rs 11,000-13,000.

Nintendo announces new ‘Dr. Mario World’ game coming to iOS and Android this summer - After announcing this morning that it was slightly delaying the release of Mario Kart for iOS, Nintendo has now revealed another mobile game coming this year. Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 next sale on February 7 on Amazon India - While the Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 went on sale for the first time today, the next sale of the Galaxy M lineup is scheduled for February 7 at 12:00 PM on Amazon India. The smartphones will also be available via Samsung’s online store. Samsung took the wraps off its new Galaxy M family last week, which marked the debut of the South Korean giant’s online-only sales model. Samsung‘s latest players will be seen competing against Xiaomi, Realme, Asus and Motorola smartphones.
To begin with, the Samsung Galaxy M10 retails at Rs 7,990 for the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant, Rs 8,990 for the 3GB/32GB configuration. The Galaxy M20, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 10,990 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, while the top-end 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant cost Rs 12,990.


2. Coolpad Cool 3 with ‘Dewdrop’ notch display, dual-rear camera, Android 9.0 Pie launched at Rs 5,999 - Coolpad has launched yet another smartphone in India called the Coolpad Cool 3. After a successful stint, the Chinese company went missing in the Indian market for quite some time. On the launch of Cool 3, now company is promising its brand revival. In a press statement on Tuesday, Coolpad noted that the company is looking forward to become a prominent budget smartphone brand in the Indian market again.
The Coolpad Cool 3 has been priced at Rs 5,999. It will come in one variant of 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The handset will be sold via both offline and online retail channels. It will be available in four gradient colors Midnight Blue, Ruby Black, Ocean Indigo & Teal Green.

Nokia 5.1 Plus new variants with up to 6GB RAM, 64GB storage launch in India: Price, specifications, features - HMD Global launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone in India last year in October for Rs 10,999. Recently, the company gave it a Rs 400 price cut, after which it is now available for Rs 10,599. Now, the HMD Global has launched two new variants of the Nokia smartphone with more storage and more RAM.
The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage model is priced at Rs 14,499, whereas the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage model is priced at Rs 16,499. The smartphone will go on sale via Nokia online store starting February 7, whereas sale via retail stores will start on February 12. Buyers will get three color options to choose from Gloss Black, Gloss White and Gloss Midnight Blue. Airtel users can also avail Rs 2,000 instant cashback, and 240GB additional data on prepaid recharge plans of Rs 199, Rs 249 and Rs 448.

Mozilla to ship ‘Firefox 66’ with ‘auto-play blocking’ feature - Mozilla, the maker of the Open Source browser Firefox, is adding a new “auto-play blocking” feature to the search engine for desktop and Android users to block audible audio and video playbacks by default. The feature would come as part of “Firefox 66” which is scheduled for general release on March 19.
“Any playback that happens before the user has interacted with a page via a mouse click, printable key press, or touch event, is deemed to be autoplay and will be blocked if it is potentially audible,” Chris Pearce, Engineer, Mozilla wrote in a blog-post on Monday.


5. Xiaomi sub-brands to launch tech-leading and innovative devices in 2019 - Lei Jun, chairman of Xiaomi Group, recently in an interview revealed future plans of Xiaomi and also reviewed the company’s past achievements. 2018 was quite a successful year for the Chinese company. Xiaomi also secured top position for number one smartphone brand in India, according to Counterpoint Research.
Following a multi-brand strategy, Xiaomi reportedly has five sub-brands, including Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco, Mito and Black Shark with each one focusing on specific fields. Gizchina reported that in the interview Lei Jun asserted Xiaomi will offer more outstanding products from all its brands in 2019.

3. Vivo V15 key features revealed ahead of February 20 launch - Vivo has scheduled a launch event in India on February 20 where it will be launching the V15 Pro smartphone. 4. Google Chrome browser for macOS, Windows 10 to soon get native Dark Mode - Google Chrome is reportedly set to get a major update on Windows 10 and macOS. This update will reportedly bring native dark mode support for Chrome on desktop platforms and macOS could be the first to get this stable new feature.
Dark themes are already popular on many platforms. Twitter, for example, has a popular night theme that can be selected in the setting and configured to switch according to the time of day. There is also speculation for a possible dark mode theme on the upcoming Android and iOS versions as well.

Asus Zenfone 6 photos leaked again with triple camera setup, gradient back - Back in October last year, we got the first glimpse at the alleged Asus Zenfone 6 owing to an exclusive leak by YouTube channel C4ETech. The leak was pretty detailed revealing a number of unique designs of the notch, and also the back of the device. Now, two more alleged photos of the upcoming Asus handset have leaked online.
Looking at the photos, both the handsets pictured here have their packaging materials with them. However, these boxes are hidden behind the device itself. 2. Goa Police, Bengaluru start-up invent technology to detect illegal drones - Goa Police in association with a Bengaluru-based start-up has come up with a technology which can detect unauthorized drones, which are a public safety hazard, a statement issued by Goa Police on Monday said.
The Drone Detection System technology, which was developed by the state police in association with IIO Technologies, helps track down unauthorized drones within a range of five km and was tested during the festive week of December 25-January 1, at the Baga beach, which is normally packed with tourists during the period.
“Due to increase in use of unauthorized drone or unmanned aerial vehicles in Goa during heavily crowded events and beach activities which can be a major potential risk to public safety and privacy, Goa Police has successfully tested a new solution which can live track current location of flying unauthorized drones. The data can also be stored for later investigation,” the statement said.


3. Xiaomi ‘Cepheus’ spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB of RAM - A new Xiaomi device with the code name “Cepheus” has been spotted in a listing on the benchmarking website Geekbench. According to the listing, the device is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and 6GB RAM. This comes around the same time when Xiaomi is all set to launch its first Redmi-branded smartphone which is expected to come with a 48-megapixel camera sensor. Some new rumors are also indicating that the company is also working on another Xiaomi branded smartphone with a similar 48-megapixel camera sensor.


4. Oppo R15 Pro launched in India; Price, Specifications, Features and more - Oppo has launched the mid-range R series Oppo R15 Pro in India after the premium R17 Pro. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 25,990 and Oppo will make it available exclusively on Amazon India from tomorrow, January 9.
The Chinese company says that R15 Pro is the first ever Oppo device, which is water resistant and has a glass back surface. It will be available in Cosmic Purple and Ruby Red gradient finish colors.
