Arsenal transfer news: Denis Suarez 'agrees personal terms' with Gunners. Arsenal have agreed personal terms with January transfer target Denis Suarez , it has been claimed.
The Barcelona midfielder come winger has long been linked with the Gunners and has previous with boss Unai Emery.
Suarez worked under the Spaniard when he went on loan to Sevilla in the 2014/15 season. Together, the pair won the Europa League.
According to Marca, the only reason the transfer to Arsenal has stalled is because of the two clubs, who have failed to come to an agreement over the 25-year-old.
However, the Spanish publication add that personal terms have already been sorted.
If a deal is to be done for Suarez, with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu assuring the midfielder he can go, it will have to be a loan switch.
Emery admitted on Thursday that Arsenal have no funds for permanent switches.
"I don’t know about his situation," said the Gunners boss on Suarez. "But we can only sign players on loan.
"I know the club is working to find players who can help us, with this condition. I know these players and they are very good players.
"But I cannot sign more."
Arsenal 'showing greater interest' in Chelsea target
Arsenal are reportedly set to rival Chelsea for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The Italian midfielder has emerged as a target for Chelsea as they look to bring in a replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
Barella, 21, has also attracted interest from Napoli and AC Milan with Cagliari facing a battle to keep hold of him this month.
Sky Italia journalist Ghilda Pensante revealed the Gunners have made enquiries about Barella.
“At present the most likely option for him is to stay with Cagliari until the end of the season, but the closest club to Barella in Serie A is Napoli, who could only close the deal for him in January if Allan leaves them," Pensante told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“Sarri at Chelsea really likes the player, but the Premier League club we know has been showing more interest in him is Arsenal.”
