Connections were talking Frodon up as a real Ryanair Chase horse after his last success and a victory here will see the current 12-1 contract.

Ante post punters sitting on a nice 5-1 voucher about him have done well, but any value extracted from the price looks to have gone and preference is for Charlie Longsdon’s Willie Boy (10/1).
This fellow made a nice debut for the wily Oxfordshire handler at Wetherby in October when finding only Acdc too powerful and then arguably might have gone close in the above-mentioned BetVictor Gold Cup when taking a tumble four out whilst tracking the winner.
While that was a promising effort, the selection also made errors at the fourth and 11 fences and no doubt Longsdon worked long and hard to eradicate these mistakes at home before his last outing again at Wetherby where he cruised clear on the bit after three out to win easily.
The handicapper has raised him 9lb for that success, which on paper looks a lot but actually seems pretty fair and with another clear round of jumping can go close.
Seven Barrows sorcerer Nicky Henderson has opted for Birchdale rather than Champ in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle (3pm) at Cheltenham, but he might not be good enough to master local trainer Fergal O’Brien’s Jarveys Plate. (2/1)
The fancy couldn’t quite get near Elixir De Nutz on his penultimate start, but that one franked the form in no uncertain terms by scoring in the top-class Tolworth Hurdle and Jarveys was an easy winner last time over course and distance.
The rumours that day were this horse is the best that Fergal has had through his hands.
